Those were encouraging words from a leader during harrowing times in this great country. We need contemporary men and women to stand up and clarify the real needs of personal character and servanthood among those who would lead our country out of the real cause of our dire circumstances today: moral depravity.

FDR said, "We are, I know, ready and willing to submit our lives and property to such discipline because it makes possible a leadership which aims at a larger good." He seemed to be teaching or declaring to the people the mutual benefit of disciplined followership. He heard the cries of the people, and believed in the fortitude of the American spirit. We only have hints that people understand the concept of being "ready and willing to submit our lives and property" today. Are we selfless enough to enable our leaders to pull us out of our self-made situation? If we are, will we enable the wrong leaders who have been elected out of our selfish desires over the past generation?

Would to God that People of Faith be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to lead this country to higher ground in all aspects of community and government. FDR's words also ring true for every Believer: "...if we are to go forward we must move as a trained and loyal army willing to sacrifice for the good of a common discipline, because without such discipline, no progress is made, no leadership becomes effective." This can truly help defeat the depravity we have allowed to fester in America.

I am encouraged by leaders such as Bible Nation who are willing to go on the frontlines of social involvement to sacrifice for something much greater than "The New Deal".
